Palming is a great way to relax eye muscles. This can be done by rubbing your palms together until they become warm and then put them over your eyes. In summer, this can be replaced by placing thin, wet, cold cotton pads on the palm, close your eyes and cup your hands over them without placing any pressure on them. Rest elbows on the knees by tilting your head forward, take deep slow breath and relax in this position anywhere from 1 to 10 minutes for upto 5 times a day.
Trataka is another beneficial eye exercise. Gaze at a flame, preferably of a ghee lamp without blinking, for 2 to 3 minutes until your eyes start tearing up. Using a ghee lamp is important as ghee draws in sattvic frequencies to calm the mind.
